I found it with this sweet wooden lid and bird top handle which I beleive were found and added at a later date.

This is an antique Triple Skip Glass Open Salt Dip Cellar Jar with large ribbed design, sturdy heavy thick glass with the word SALT on one side. Likely made by Sneath Glass but there is no makers mark on this piece. A Salt Dip canister jar such as this one would have been found inside of a Hoosier Cabinet and would not have had a lid originally. This ribbed design is commonly referred to as triple skip. These salt dips were part of a canister set that was given away with the purchase of a Hoosier cabinet. This salt dip jar can be used for your table salt or finishing salt or simply as an antique decorative piece
The jar is 3-1/2 tall by 4-1/4 inches wide

The jar is in really nice vintage condition with very little evidence of wear There are some minor and typical imperfections which are characteristic of the age of this piece (many air bubbles and a few straw marks in the glass from when it was made
