CHANEL Byzantine Gripoix 1940's Necklace
40s vintage,
multi-colored cabochons in Gripoix glass,
length is 40", weight .22 kg,
good condition with wear as per age.
There are 9 stones missing but it is not noticeable.
This is a lovely piece of costume Chanel jewelry.
There are not marks. I contacted the owner of the same necklace (the shorter style) that I found online and I asked about markings. She informed me that in the 40's marks often came on paper and later towards the 50's they did stamp the jewelry.
The information below is from her page and I was thrilled to find it.
